Cobalt Blue Porcelain

The 1976 Olympics plate was produced to celebrate the XXI Olympic Games in Montreal in 1976. The motif reproduced is in relief and the plate is hand-decorated in the classic underglaze cobalt blue shades. White porcelain plate with decorations in various shades of blue. Each plate was produced in limited quantities only and exclusively in the year shown on the plate itself and production ended at the end of the year with the destruction of the original mold which made it impossible to reproduce. As a guarantee of authenticity, the plate bears the Royal Copenhagen mark with the three overlapping wavy lines, which represent the three Danish straits: Øresund, the Great Belt and the Little Belt, the date, the title, the 1976 Olympics logo. The plate measures 20 cm in diameter and on the back it has the two holes made by Royal Copenhagen itself during production to allow it to be hung.

Christmas Night in Bethlehem

Since 1998, Royal Copenhagen has started producing the Christmas plate dedicated to children with illustrations that represent the joy that Christmas inspires in children. Each plate was produced in limited quantities only and exclusively in the year of the first printing, which takes place from March 1st, and production ended at the end of the year with the destruction of the original mold which made it impossible to reproduce. Jubilee Plate 1970

The 1970 Jubilee plate was issued to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the first Christmas plate produced in 1895. The title of the plate is “The Royal Palace Amalienborg” and it is the 12th in the series of Jubilee plates started in 1915, and still in production with a new plate every five years. A peculiar characteristic of all the Jubilee plates is that they repeat the ornamental motif of a previous Christmas plate; in this case the design of the Christmas plate of the year 1914 has been reproduced.
