Description

Neo-Renaissance column in carved wood, black lacquered and gilded, Italy second quarter of the 19th century. Upper end decorated with a double row of Greek frets, one of which is ribbed, lower with a leafy frieze. Stem embellished with candelabra motifs made up of curls, screaming winged masks, scrolls of leaves, vine leaves and bunches of grapes, interspersed with lighted torches and festoons of fruit, placed above large leafy inserts. The decorative apparatus is completed by a frieze of shells and leafy curls placed in the upper part of the stem.
